Our Day Habilitation services are designed to help participants acquire, retain, and improve self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. Operating out of our fully accessible Dover center, this program offers a supportive environment where individuals can work on functional goals throughout the day.
We provide a structured schedule featuring life-skills workshops, physical movement sessions, sensory stimulation activities, and computer literacy classes. Our staff-to-participant ratio ensures that everyone receives the guidance they need to succeed.
Our Community Participation program centers on true local integration. We believe learning and growth happen best in real-world settings. Under the supervision of our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), participants explore Kent County and engage in activities that foster confidence and community relationships.
From volunteering at local non-profits to practicing transactional skills at local supermarkets, participants develop practical life capabilities while building natural support networks.
We recognize that every participant has unique dreams, capabilities, and barriers. Our team collaborates with the participant, their family, their DDDS case manager, and their support coordinator to design a customized service plan.
This ensures that the skills being developed in Day Habilitation directly support the activities selected for Community Participation, keeping progress coherent and measurable.
